Global Literacy Initiative - Africa

The Book Fairies is dedicated to supporting literacy programs in underdeveloped nations around the world.  Books that are in fair to average condition are packaged for partnering organizations to ship overseas.  Since the program’s inception, we have helped build libraries in Africa, India, China, South America, the Caribbean Islands.

We currently partner with US-Africa Children’s Fellowship, a nonprofit organization that provides much-needed school supplies to disadvantaged schools in Africa and refugees in Jordan.  Children’s books in English are their most important commodity, and the The Book Fairies were able to provide 80,000 books to the program in 2017, making up more than 50% of US-ACF’s donated books shipped overseas that year.
